REPRESENTATION AT REVIEW HEARING PANEL MEETINGS
(APPEALS HEARINGS)
Your organization can appeal to the AO Accreditation Committee
if your accreditation is denied or revoked. Each AO has a
structured process for this appeal. Fortunately this event
is rare, but when this happens it is disruptive to the entire
hospital. At this stage your survival is at stake because
it may lead to cessation of laboratory testing.
Depending on the stage of the appeal, we can write the appeals
report and/or present your case in person to the appropriate
committee. We have successfully represented clients in such
cases, and gained full reversals, reinstating full accreditation.
In order for Lab Accreditation Consultants to be of assistance
to you, you need to call us immediately after you are served
notice of the adverse outcome that may lead to an appeal.
You may have only a few days to appeal. We can prepare the
appropriate report after we review all survey materials and
appropriate laboratory policies, processes and procedures
and interview lab management and the Medical Director. This
review will be exhaustive and if there is any remote possibility
of demonstrating your laboratory's compliance, we will find
it.
We can also represent you at the appeals meeting. Again, our
presentation is thorough, and if there is any opportunity
to salvage the situation, we have the expertise to do so.
