PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PLAN
(PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PLAN)
The Periodic Process Improvement Plan is an extension of your
laboratory's Quality Improvement Plan
(QIP) and a tool used to evaluate the success of your
QIP (usually evaluated annually).
- The Plan we prepare is customized to your laboratory after
thoroughly evaluating all the factors that impact your quality,
including:
- Staffing
- Customer issues
- Instruments, specimens, testing processes
- Supplier issues
- Risk Management, Reporting Systems, Laboratory Information
(Management) System (LIS)--including Test Reporting,
Proficiency and Competency and Interdepartmental Communications
.
- The set of indicators we compile span across the Pre-analytical,
Analytical and Post-analytical phases of testing.
- Each indicator is described under each of the following
break-downs:
- Current Problem
- Impact on Patient Care
- Anticipated Goal
- Data Collection
- Responsibilities
- Recommended Period of Monitoring and Threshold.
- We can also help you to collect and analyze process improvement
related data for each indicator and incorporate appropriate
statistical tools and graphs to communicate the findings
to target staff and hospital administration.
