STAFF COMPETENCY PROGRAM
Competency is an individual's skills, knowledge, and capability
to meet defined expectations towards his/her job responsibilities.
All AO's require employees to demonstrate acceptable competency
in all assigned job responsibilities. Maintaining current
competency plays a critical role in tracer reviews.
- Our Competency Program document includes policies and
processes used for maintaining and assessing staff competency
and pertinent checklists created on the basis of:
- Routine Test Performance
- Recording and Reporting of Test Results
- Quality Control
- Proficiency Testing
- Problem Solving Skills
- Preventive Maintenance
- Necessary checklists and references are provided, including:
- Incidence/Accident Logs
- Safety Audit checklist
- Chemical Inventory
- Reference web site list
- Any other document unique to your laboratory
- When the writing of this program is combined with on-site
consultation, we also train and coach lab management and
section supervisors how to compile competency assessment
documents out of the day-to-day routine rather than reserving
separate time slots for these tasks. We can actually put
together the Competency Program file for each employee.
- We also offer our service to perform yearly competency
assessments for you We do this on the staff member's scheduled
tour of duty and with the least interruption of the testing
routine.
